And like a dying lady, lean and pale,
Who totters forth, wrapp’d in a gauzy veil,
Out of her chamber, led by the insane
And feeble wanderings of her fading brain,
The moon arose up in the murky East,
A white and shapeless mass.
-Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822)
I was browsing through some older photos when I stumbled onto this image. It was shot in November, 2015 during the daytime, at 600mm. Unfortunately it was very tonally flat, lacking contrast and just visually unappealing. A boring image. Yet it intrigued me enough that I pulled it into Photoshop, started playing around with adjustment layers and shortly had what you see above. A huge improvement, I think, and one that I’m quite pleased with.
